Skill Development,

Skill development is an area of key focus for the SME sector of India. Government and government agencies are considering Skill development as their key priority. In order to contribute to this priority, National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) has introduced a six month industry sponsored post graduate certificate course in solid waste management.  The course fee is kept at Rs 1,85,000.

According to a statement issued this course is offered under the 100 per cent job guaranteed program, scheduled to commence from October-7 also guarantees 100 per cent cash refund in the case if the candidate fails to get a job.

The course has been specifically designed as per business requirement of the waste management industry. Further, students will get trained and educated under the guidance of industry experts who are alumni of IIT and IIM.

On successful completion of course, candidates can expect minimum CTC on placement to be Rs 2-3 lakhs per annum.

Meanwhile, the MSME Development Centre in Agra under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, is organising a 3 day workshop on design of heating ventilation and air conditioning at Noida.

The workshop is meant for engineering students, facility managers, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, site and design engineers as well as architects.

While the course fee is Rs 12,000, concession would be offered to SC/ST, physically handicapped and ex-servicemen.

While both the courses are pertinent and would help improve job prospects of candidates, one wonders how the students can afford such expensive programmes.
