MSME Ministry & ILO Join Hands

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India and the International Labour Organization has signed a Memorandum of Understanding. According to the MoU there will be a technical partnership between Ministry of MSME and ILO with the primary objective of creating more and better quality employment in India. Entrepreneurship development, best practices for employers, improving productivity and enhancing integration into global supply chains, and research and knowledge-building related to sustainable enterprises and formalization strategies.

The Secretary, MSME Shri Madhav Lal welcomed and expressed hope for greater synergies between the sake holder.  "MoU will ensure better ecosystem for business from the perspective of skill development and better business efficiency of Indian MSMEs. We are very hopeful to make a positive impact on the business ecosystem with this joint venture."

The MOU is initially for a 5-year period and will support the Government’s “Make in India” programme.

Shri Madhav Lal, Secretary, MSME and Ms. Tine Staermose, Director, Decent Work team for South Asia and Country Office of India signed the MOU on behalf of their organizations.
