MSME Industry's Visionary Father Figure - Shri Sudarshan Sareen Passes Away

Mr Karun Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME DI, MSME Ministry, Government of India expressed his condolences by saying, "We have lost a father figure of MSME industry. Mr. Sareen has been continuously and dedicatedly working in the area of MSMEs and their progress for the past many decades.

Shri Sudharshan Sareen -one of the major pillars of the modern Indian MSME sector passed away. Mr. Sareen will be remembered always as a humble, successful, and dedicated entrepreneur who worked for the upliftment of the manufacturing sector. He died due to COVID at a hospital on 21st April 2021.

He was the President of All India Manufacturers' Organization and was holding several important positions including -National President (AICOSMIA), Member- National Board of MSME under Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. In past Mr. Sareen held positions such as Member- Council of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Mr Sareen was also Former Chairman- Delhi State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (DSIIDC), (Govt. of NCT of Delhi) and Former Director- Punjab National Bank.

Commenting on this great loss, Mr Karun Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME DI, MSME Ministry, Government of India expressed his condolences by saying, "We have lost a father figure of MSME industry. Mr. Sareen has been continuously and dedicatedly working in the area of MSMEs and their progress for the past many decades. We remember Sareen ji for his landmark work for MSMEs since the 1990s. And he was been considered as a great think tank for MSMEs."

"Indeed MSME industry have lost a selfless and committed person as Mr. Sudarshan Sareen hasSudhar S left us. I will remember him as an optimistic, committed expert for the industry who always believed in every possible avenue for MSMEs' development. I remember our first meeting at an MSME event sometime 10 years ago, where he not just motivated me to write of MSME issues but gave so much insightful information which was about potential rich opportunities for MSMEs. He was the person, who wished that India can become the world MSME leader and that's possible through a product-driven approach," commented Mr Faiz Askari, Founder & Editor of SMEStreet and Secretary-General of SMEStreet Foundation.

At this tough time, our condolences are with, his son Mr. Arun Sareen and entire Sareen family, may the Almighty give them the strength to bear this loss.
