Indian Overseas Bank is committed to the cause of common people as well as Bank’s employees and their family members. During the Covid pandemic, the Bank supported all the initiatives taken by the Government in containing the spread of the virus and also in extending financial support to the people.  The employees of the Bank have worked tirelessly braving innumerous odds and provided services to the customers spread across urban, rural and remote corners of the Country. When the pandemic was at its peak in the months of April, May & June 2020, staff members extended their service till the last mile in facilitating withdrawal of relief credited in Jan Dhan Accounts, under PMJDY scheme declared by the Government.

The Government of India has launched the Covidvaccination programme in a big way.  While the vaccine is administered free of cost at Government Hospitals and Public Health Centres, the Government has capped the cost of the vaccine at Rs.250 in private hospitals.  As a token of appreciation of the good work rendered by the Bank’s employees and to support the noble cause of the Government in providing vaccine to all the people, the Bank is bearing the cost of vaccine incurred by its employees and their family members.  A total number of about one lakh members (Staff and their Family members) are expected to be benefitted by this initiative of the Bank.
