Karnataka Government in order to support and motivate manufacturing industries of the state has introduced a motivation program for manufacturers to compete with China successfully.

Karnataka Minister K J George, as part of the implementation of ‘Compete with China’ scheme for Large and Medium Scale Industries, chaired two meetings, with industry captains of the vision groups for ICB/ Chip Manufacturing Clusters and Mobile Phone Components to get their feedback and suggestions.

State government of Karnataka has identified nine districts to foster innovation and product diversification, in an effort to boost Karnataka’s industrial and innovation capability.

Government has also has set up vision groups for each of the identified groups.

The group comprises of industry leaders and experts, in order to achieve the objective of recreating manufacturing and boosting job development across the State.

Vision group members of the ICB/Chip Manufacturing cluster in Mysuru includes MOSCHIP, Texas Instruments, IESA (Indian Electronics & Semiconductor Association), ESDM Cluster, Velankani, Deshpande Foundation and Intel.

Vision Group members of mobile phone components, Chikkaballapur includes, Winstron Infocomm Manufacturing India, Foxconn Technology - India, IESA (Indian Electronics & Semiconductor Association), Karbonn, e-Parisara and Huawei Technologies India.

Programme to be implemented in various districts include Kalaburgi for manufacturing of solar power goods, Chitradurga for manufacturing of LED lights and Hassan for manufacturing of sanitary goods.

Also, Koppal for manufacturing of mechanised toys, Mysuru for ICB manufacturing unit, Ballari for textile industry, Chikkaballapur for mobile phone components, Tumkur for sports and fitness goods and Bidar for manufacture of agricultural implements
