Hailing Centre's decision to include Faridabad in the list of proposed Smart Cities of the country, industry body Assocham said its ideal positioning would ensure in the unleashing of entrepreneurial potential and truly become a city of the future.
"The decision of Central Government of including Faridabad into the list of proposed Smart Cities is a welcome step," said Rana Kapoor, President of ASSOCHAM, and MD and CEO of Yes Bank.
"The winds of change are indeed visible in Faridabad. As a Smart City, it is ideally positioned to lead the manufacturing renaissance of Haryana, given its prime geographic and political location," he said.
"Faridabad offers a unique amalgamation a high concentration of MSMEs as well as large manufacturing units - both critical components of the government's growth agenda. I am confident that with the right Centre and state impetus, Faridabad will unleash its true entrepreneurial potential and truly become a city of the future," he said.
The ASSOCHAM president was speaking on the occasion of 62nd Annual General Meeting of Faridabad Industries Association (FIA) as the chief guest in a ceremony held here.
