Prime Minister Narendra Modi few days back chaired a meeting of three state Chief Ministers and a trade delegation from UAE and discussed ways to enhance export to the middle eastern country.
The meeting of Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra was held at the Prime Minister's official residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. It was also attended by a delegation from UAE.
During the meeting, the Madhya Pradesh government gave a presentation on state's industrial, agricultural and trade potential and also informed about the possibilities of export potential of the state, an official statement from Madhya Pradesh government said.
It said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed that the state in last many years has recorded growth of above 20 per cent in the field of agriculture.
He also briefed the UAE delegation about state's record production of sharbati wheat, pulse and spices.
"UAE and India are having good relations and this is an effort to further strengthen the relations between the two countries," Chouhan said.
The statement said that an agreement on contract farming was also signed during the meeting.
"Under this agreement farmers can directly export their produce without registering themselves in their respective mandis," it said.
