Steered by Vivek Gupta, ED (Projects & Operations), Raw Materials Division (RMD) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has set new records in iron ore production in February. The daily-average iron ore production clocked 66,620 tonne which is all time high notching a growth of 6.45% over the previous one.
The monthly production in February has gone up to 1.87 million tonne recording a growth of 11.62% over CPLY. Individually, RMD’s Barsua Iron Mines recorded highest ever Single-day production of 13708 T. With support from Railways, RMD loaded 22 Rakes in a day on February 28, which is all time record. Minesalso recorded highest ever daily-average loading of17.68 rakes per day. The Flux mines at Kuteshwar, has scored all time high by loading 26 Rakes in 28 days in February.
SAIL is now heading for producing 18 million tonneof hot metal by the end of this fiscal, for which RMD has taken steps at its captive mines to supply required 24.5mt of iron ore to the steel plants in this fiscal.
