India will host the 14th India-EU Summit on October 6 which will be attended by European Council President Donald Franciszek Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, it was announced on Friday.
Tusk and Juncker, who will visit India from October 5 to 7, will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including European Commission Vice-President Federica Mogherini, said a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.
"The 14th India-EU Summit aims to deepen the India-EU strategic partnership and advance collaboration in priority areas for India's growth and development," it said, adding that an India-EU Business Event will also be organised on October 6 on the sidelines of the Summit with Juncker as the keynote speaker.
"EU is India's largest regional trading partner with bilateral trade in goods standing at $88 billion in 2016. It is also the largest destination for Indian exports and a key source of the investment and cutting edge technologies," MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar told the media.
The 13th India-EU Summit was held in Brussels on March 30, 2016.
