Master artisans and weavers from all over India will participate in the National Handicrafts Fair starting at the national capital.
Union Textiles Minister, Santosh Kumar Gangwar will inaugurate the National Handicrafts Fair “Master Creation” at Dilli Haat this evening. The Fair will be on till 15th December, according to an official statement.
“The Fair has been conceptualized with a view to provide a direct marketing platform for innovative products developed by 120 handicrafts and 42 Handlooms master artisans/weavers from all across the country,” it said.
The event will showcase the best of Indian handicrafts in quality, design and versatility from all over the country. The Council proposes to organize the event in a bigger way by giving wide publicity and also organize a thematic display at Dilli Haat for the benefit of the master craft person/weavers. A cultural programme, representing the folk art is also being organized on the occasion.
The Fair is being promoted and marketed by Council of Handicrafts Development Corporation (COHANDS), with financial assistance from the office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts).
Secretary (Textiles) will be the guest of honour, while Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and (Handlooms) and other dignitaries will also be present on the occasion.
