FICCI and GlobalLogic, a Hitachi group company, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch an innovative, AI-driven Business Resilience Platform (BRP), tailored for MSMEs. This strategic collaboration is designed to accelerate the adoption of sustainability practices and enhance climate resilience among India’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The MoU, singed under the aegis of the FICCI Centre for Sustainability Leadership, establishes a comprehensive framework for collaboration. The Centre has been established to assist businesses in their sustainability journey. Hindustan Unilever Limited and HSBC India are its founding members.

The BRP is an advanced digital solution that empowers MSMEs to navigate the complexities of changing global market needs. It helps businesses assess and improve data transparency and strengthen their access to both global markets and green finance. The platform evaluates and mitigates environmental impacts, aligns businesses with global sustainability goals, and enhances transparency within corporate supply chains. By utilizing its structured data templates and dashboards, MSMEs can benchmark their performance against 49 key indicators, unlocking new opportunities for growth and investor trust.

The platform provides readiness heatmaps for effectively highlighting organizations priorities and growth areas, peer benchmarking tailored for diverse industry sectors to compare performance with others in the industry, structured data templates and dashboards to improve data quality and transparency. It also provides a Resilience Scorecard which is a Standardized evaluation framework for unlisted and MSME companies aligned with Indian and global norms. The platform is designed to assess future readiness with a focus on sustainability disclosures, policy alignment, and green finance linkages.

Accelerating Sustainability Through Roadshows:

To kickstart this joint effort, the FICCI Centre for Sustainability Leadership and GlobalLogic recently completed two roadshows in Gujarat themed "Sustainability Readiness for MSMEs: From Awareness to Action." The events were held in Vadodara (September 17) in partnership with the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI), and in Ankleshwar (September 19) with the Ankleshwar Industries Association (AIA).

These workshops provided intensive capacity building, focusing on regulatory compliance, and practical application of Sustainability strategies through live demonstration of the Business Resilience Platform (BRP). The strong participation from the MSMEs across both cities highlights a rising awareness of sustainability as a key driver of resilience and long-term value.

Ms Jyoti Vij, Director General, FICCI said, “We are excited to join hands with GlobalLogic on this pioneering initiative that aligns with our shared commitment to driving sustainable business practices. FICCI Centre for Sustainability Leadership is building sustainable and resilient MSMEs by undertaking intensive capacity building exercises, improving MSME’s understanding of risks and opportunities associated with ESG norms, and equipping them with the skill sets to measure and monitor their risks and ESG performance. FICCI’s collaboration with GlobalLogic will further strengthen our efforts towards balancing economic growth with sustainability.”

Mr Piyush Jha, Group Vice-President and Managing Director - Asia-Pacific, GlobalLogic, said, “This partnership is a significant step in addressing a key challenge industry is facing today which is building resilience through sustainability. At GlobalLogic, we believe technology is critical for helping businesses anticipate regulatory changes, meet global market expectations, and remain competitive. By combining our deep digital engineering expertise with FICCI’s sectoral insights, we are equipping MSMEs with practical tools to navigate their sustainability and resilience journey. This also reflects our broader commitment, as part of the Hitachi Group, to contribute meaningfully to social innovation and environmental progress.”

The MoU and the launch of BRP Platform underscores a shared vision for creating resilient, climate-smart industry ecosystems. By co-creating innovative digital tools, FICCI and GlobalLogic are catalyzing a transformative shift in how Indian MSMEs engage with sustainability and navigate global value chains.
