Confederation of Indian Industry in association with MSME Development Institute, New Delhi and Ministry of MSME, Government of India organized the Delhi MSME Summit at New Delhi.
The session was a special platform put together by CII and MSME-DI, New Delhi to promote MSME sector and to discuss and deliberate on challenges faced by them. A Vendor Development Programme was also organized coinciding with the Summit. In all, 10 Public Sector Enterprises participated in the Vendor Development. Senior officials from PSEs spoke at length about their procurement and vendor development policies and schemes.
Mr Amit Yadav, Commissioner and Secretary Industries and Chairman and Managing Director, DSIIDC, Government of NCT of Delhi while delivering an address at the inaugural session said that MSMEs are the backbone of any economy. MSMEs in India can no longer be only seen as ancillary units for larger corporations.
To encourage the growth of MSME, Mr Yadav mentioned about the policies like Ease of Doing Business that are being adopted and implemented by the Delhi Government.
He also said that within the next 3-4 months, various policies will be implemented in Delhi that will ease of doing business in Delhi by reducing the number of permits and licenses required to run a business in the city. He also urged the industry members to use the MSME Facilitation Center set up by the Delhi Government for any redressal or compliance issues.
