Three unique startups from India have made their way to the Asia largest Hardware Awards, a Techcrunch venture, and a global platform recognizing noble business initiatives in field of entrepreneurship. The awards have been appropriately titled as ‘China Bang’-as it appeals to different technology entrepreneurs who want to make a noise for the benefit of people.
This year’s edition will be held on March 31, 2016. China Bang has been introduced in India by an entrepreneurial venture, One Internet- a venture co-founded by Himanshu Bindal to provide a quintessential ecosystem of resources for growth of startups. The objective is to showcase the potential and talent in India on a global stage.
For the event (to be held in China), three exclusive Indian business ownerships have been shortlisted. The names include, Velmenni.com, Chakr and Livebraille.com (For further details on the shortlisted companies, please scroll below).
Himanshu Bindal, co-founder, One Internet said that “this pioneering opportunity for the Indian startup companies offers a lot of motivation for the whole community to deliver more. We are staunch believers in the entrepreneurial spirit India has, and feel that such platforms will only help us gain a global recognition-for what we are. It is also our endeavor to take “Make-in-India” vision of the government-a step forward.”
The final selection of the startup companies to represent India at the China Bang was divided into chapters. The first stage was the India Start-up Hunt for innovation and technology, which took place in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore in February. It saw some of the best starts-ups from the length and breadth of the country exhibiting (their initiative) in front of 50 top tier VC firms.
Out of 15 start-ups that participated from across the nation, three of them got shortlisted by the panel of eminent jury members from among the top 50 VCs. They will now be required to present their innovations in front of revered venture capitalists such as Sequoia China, IDG, GGV Capital, Matrix Partners China, Cyber Agent, Vintage Capital and more.
Other Asian countries participating at the event includes, China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Israel, Taiwan and Hong Kong, will be vying for the top slot.
Brief on the 2016 shortlisted companies from India
Velmenni.com – chosen for building a new wireless technology for high speed (upto 1GBps) data transmission using visible light. It is commonly known as Li-Fi. It creates high speed, high bandwidth backbone of wireless communication system.
Chakr – chosen for inventing a device that captures the hazardous emissions from chimneys and engine exhausts and converts them into inks, paints and other useful products. Each T-Shirt printed from their ink purifies over 75 lakh litres of air and every litre of their paint purifies over three crore litres of air.
Embro S (Livebraille.com)- chosen for being 'apple' for 1 Billion people who have challenges. Currently, laser like focused on 'Sight Loss'. LiveBraille is the core patent pending technology which being a multinational award winner in 6 countries is delivered into 2 products: Mini IN and Mini S.
