Time for Manufacturing MSMEs to Adopt Best Practices and follow ZED : Kalraj Mishra

Union Minister for MSME, Kalraj Mishra has urged the sector to adopt the 'lean manufacturing' and 'Zero Defect Zero Effect' (ZED) approaches to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream a reality.

Speaking on the occasion of the UN Day for MSMEs on June 27, Mishra exhorted the MSME sector to walk the path of ZED and Lean manufacturing to make the Prime Minister's dream a reality.

Lean manufacturing is a systematic method for waste minimization while the slogan 'Zero Defect Zero Effect', given by the Prime Minster, signifies mechanisms wherein products have no defects and zero adverse environmental and ecological effects.

Since the United Nations has declared 27th June as the UN Day for MSMEs, the MSME ministry selected this day for distributing National MSME Awards to 56 awardees from various categories, including 50 for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and 6 for Banks.

The minister congratulated the award winners for achieving excellence in various fields and expressed his hope that other enterprises in the sector would emulate the examples set by the winners. He also listed out the achievements made in MSME sector during the last three years.

He also said that the Ministry of MSME is making concrete efforts in line with 'Digital India' and 'Make In India' visions of the Prime Minister.

As per the vision of the Prime Minister, the MSME ministry has taken a number of steps for ease of doing business and 'Digital India Mission', Mishra stated, adding that an online portal linked with Aadhaar number, can now be filed within few minutes with no fee and on self certification basis.
