Coming from the small town of Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma entered into politics in the late 1980s.
Shri Verma has joined Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises as Minister of State in the recent Union Cabinet Expansion. He is associated with Bhartiya Janta Party for a long period of time and is currently a Member of Parliament from Jalaun, UP.
Born 15 July 1957, his political success story started in 1991 when he became elected Member of UP's Legislative Assembly and he came to Lok Sabha as the Member of Parliament in 1996.
As of now, he won five Member of Parliament elections from Jalaun in years: 1996, 1998, 2004, 2014, 2019.
In the year, 2001 Shri Verma became Vice-President, S.C Morcha of the party and also became a member of the National Council, B.J.P.
From 2011 to 2013 he was appointed as the president of B.J.P.'s SC Morcha, Uttar Pradesh and from 2014 onwards he is a member of the House Committee and also a member of the Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. In addition, he is also a standing committee member on Energy; Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
While joining MSME Ministry as the MoS, it is expected that his enriched experience in several areas such as oil & gas, SCs & STs will fetch great results from the MSMEs.
