Under the employment generation Scheme, Margin Money Subsidy is provided for setting up of new Microenterprises and bank loan amount under the scheme has been raised to 90% of the project cost in case of general category and 95% in case of a special category of beneficiaries. Individuals above 18 years of age are eligible under the Scheme.

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises implements the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme to encourage unemployed youth including women for self-employment in the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. Under this Scheme, Margin Money Subsidy is provided for setting up of new Microenterprises and bank loan amount under the scheme has been raised to 90% of the project cost in case of general category and 95% in case of a special category of beneficiaries. Individuals above 18 years of age are eligible under the Scheme.

The Ministry of MSME imparts training through Khadi & Village Industries Commission, its 15 tool rooms and 30 MSME-Development Institutes. These training include Management Development Programmes (MDP), Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes (ESDP) and Diploma Courses.
