We are Committed to Ensure Employment Generation Through MSMEs: MSME Minister in Rajya Sabha

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises implements the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme to encourage unemployed youth including women for self-employment in the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. Under this Scheme, Margin Money Subsidy is provided for setting up of new Microenterprises and bank loan amount under the scheme has been raised to 90% of the project cost in case of general category and 95% in case of a special category of beneficiaries. Individuals above 18 years of age are eligible under the Scheme.

The Ministry of MSME imparts training through Khadi & Village Industries Commission, its 15 tool rooms and 30 MSME-Development Institutes. These training include Management Development Programmes (MDP), Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes (ESDP) and Diploma Courses.

This information was given by Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.
