‘One Nation One Tax’ Lok Sabha Passed GST

Sharing is caring!

NEW DELHI: The bills were passed by voice votes negating all amendments moved by the opposition members. Earlier replying to the debate on four GST bills, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said ‘After Independence we became one political entity, but not the one economic entity.’

‘Now this GST will make India one economic entity.’ He said that GST would replace the several multiple taxes and the accesses have only one interface accesses officer in place of several ones. He made it clear that there would be no tax on agricultural commodities or products. He said that the talks about bringing the agriculture under tax net are baseless.
