To address the concerns of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector faced in the country, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister for MSME Nitin Gadkari will meet the representatives of MSME associations on August 6, 2019.

The ministers would meet with around 30 industry associations to discuss a roadmap to resolve challenges faced by the sector including slowdown. The Ministers would also discuss timelines for action required with respect to the Expert Committee on MSMEs headed by former SEBI Chairman U.K. Sinha aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and credit accessibility for MSMEs.

The eight-member committee was set up in January this year by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to review and support the sector with the economic and financial sustainability apart from locating structural problems impacting its growth etc.

The committee had submitted its report in June this year, suggesting numerous measures to boost the MSME sector.
