Indian Vice President, Venkaiah Naidu asserted on the potential of Indian MSMEs by quoting that flagship projects including Stand-up India, Start-up India, Incubation, Innovation should get further momentum and tempo. Capacity building is important; credit availability is important, technology up-gradation is also important.
He stressed upon saying that the sector is vital for the country’s economy.
The Vice President further stated that a collective and coordinated action is imperative to strengthen the eco-system for promoting SC & ST Entrepreneurs in the country.
Also during the event, over 3 MoUs were signed with 3 Sector Skill Councils to provide skill development trainings to SC-ST Entrepreneurs.
Key government officials including Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, Minister of Tribal Affairs Shri Jual Oram, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shri Giriraj Singh, Minister of State, Ministry of Finance Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla, were present at the event.
Naidu was speaking along the sidelines of the inaugural event of National SC ST Hub (NSSH) Confluence in the national capital organized by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The main aim of the confluence is to explore various insights from Industry Association and Incubators.
Also the forum will be holding disucssions with reference to Public Procurement Policy and put forth innovative strategies for holistic development of MSMEs owned by SC/ST Entrepreneurs.
