A delegation of IIA under the leadership of National President Indian Industries Association (IIA) Shri Ashok Kumar Agrawal met Hon'ble Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath at his residence on 23rd August evening for appraising him about the cooperation of IIA in achieving the goal of 1 trillion economy of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from President IIA, Alok Agrawal National Treasurer, Rajneesh Sethi Chairman MSME Cluster Development, Awadhesh Agrawal National Secretary, D.S. Verma Executive Director were part of IIA delegation.
National President IIA apprised the Hon'ble Chief Minister that for achieving the target of 1 trillion-dollar economy by 2025 in the state, IIA have taken up a project to conduct comprehensive industrial survey upto Tehsil level for setting up Micro Small and Medium industries. In this regard, industries will be promoted in each tehsil by selecting "one tehsil one product" on the basis of locally available raw material and local skilled manpower. Uttar Pradesh being rich in agriculture, horticulture and animal resources, there is a huge potential for setting up food processing and handicraft industries at the tehsil level. To promote these food processing industries, IIA is also organizing India Food Expo in the first week of November.
With the “One Tehsil One Product” scheme of IIA, where small and big industries will be established in rural areas of the state, local youth will get employment and their migration to urban areas will stop. The scheme not only will increase the income of the farmers, it will also help in achieving the goal of one trillion-dollar economy of the state government.
With the objective to have a comprehensive discussion with the entrepreneurs of the state for achieving the goal of 1 trillion economy of Uttar Pradesh, the National President IIA informed the Honorable Chief Minister that the Uttar Pradesh Udyami Mahasammelan will be organized in the first week of November and requeste Hon’ble Chief Minister to inaugurate it.
The Hon'ble Chief Minister was also apprised that keeping in mind the priorities of the State Government, IIA has been working in the interest of the industry for the last 37 years. Even today, according to the priorities of the government, IIA is actively participating in the government's Defence Corridor scheme, ODOP scheme, schemes to increase farmers' income, activities of Udyog Bandhu as well as in prepation and implementation of industrial policies.
Hon'ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji gave his in-principle consent to grace the Udyami Mahasammelan being organized by IIA and said that IIA should organize more and more industrial exhibitions in the state. Describing the "One Tehsil One Product" scheme of IIA as practical, the Hon'ble Chief Minister said that the ODOP scheme has been very successful in the state and today there are more than one product in a district whose Geographical Indication can be registered. So the initiative of IIA of “One Tehsil One Product” is good. The Hon'ble Chief Minister also said that along with the quality of the goods produced by small entrepreneurs at the district and tehsil level, there is a need to pay more attention to their packaging because outside appearance is also vital to sell products in the national and international markets.
Hon'ble Chief Minister also advised that IIA should also work on the possibilities of maximising export of goods produced in rural areas under ODOP and OTOP (one tehsil one product).
In the end, the National President IIA assured the Hon'ble Chief Minister that IIA would work according to his expectations by making an action plan. At the same time, it was also urged that the Hon'ble Chief Minister may chair the meeting of the High Level Committee of Udyog Bandhu as early as possible and hold it regularly in future also. On this, the Hon'ble Chief Minister assured that he will find time for chairing this meeting and will ensure that Udyog bandhu Meetings are held at all levels regularly.
