The GST council has decided to implement e-way bill system from February 1 next year.Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender, who participated in video conference from Secretariat here on Saturday held by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, appealed him to resolve pending Good and Service Tax (GST) issues, as the new tax system has already  reached six months.

Mr Jaitlley said the e-way bill to be implemented from Feb 1, 2018, will bring uniformity across the nation and ensure quick disposal of goods.

In view of the new all India electronic-way bill system, the Union Finance Minister made some

suggestions during the video conference to the States to be carried out during its implementation.

The Council decided that till the National e-way Bill is ready, the States were told to continue their

own separate e-way bill systems.

During the 7th GST council meeting in New Delhi, Mr Rajender raised objections over Centres

interference in State tax system and said States should be given free hand in collection of their own taxes.
