DefExpo 2022 Showcased Progress and India’s Economic Prominence
The Gujarat BJP has acknowledged few important highlights of DefEXpo 2022 like the country's first hydrogen bike or Special Offroading Dirt Bike by Triton Electric Vehicle (TEV) which will be made in Gujarat.
There is no doubt that a New India has been fastly marching towards a self-reliance or aatmanirbharta. New economic opportunities are becoming visible and an overall development is happening. Recently held, Gujarat’s DefExpo 2022 had showcased such milestones of success and Aatmanirbharta.
Four hundred and fifty-one (451) Memoranda of Understanding, Transfer of Technology agreements and product launches took place during the Bandhan ceremony of 12th DefExpo in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on October 20, 2022. Of the 451, there were 345 MoUs, 42 Major Announcements, 46 Product Launches and 18 ToTs. The contribution of Gujarat was 28 MoUs and one Product Launch. It envisages investment worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore. Indian Air Force and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited concluded a contract for 70 HTT-40 indigenous trainer aircraft worth Rs 6,800 crore.
Such progress and progressive milestones arealso becoming a major factor for the Gujarat State elections campaign with the ruling party – BJP has taken the milestones of DefExpo 2022 as an evidence of Shri Narendra Modi’s vision.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated DefExpo 2022. At the India Pavilion, the Prime Minister also unveiled HTT-40 – the indigenous trainer aircraft designed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. The aircraft has state-of-the-art contemporary systems and has been designed with pilot-friendly features. The Prime Minister also launched Mission DefSpace to develop innovative solutions for the Armed Forces in the space domain through industry and start-ups. He also laid the foundation stone of the Deesa airfield in Gujarat.
Each and every BJP worker in the Gujarat State have celebrated this mega event as the greatest milestone for India’s progress towards ‘Aatmanirbharta’ and also called it ‘Path to Pride’.

The tweet also acknowledged that such visionary products are significantly critical for controlling Pollution and restricting Carbon footprint efficiently.
Triton Electric Vehicle has invested in Gujarat with a mandate of building Asia’s largest Manufacturing Hub for Clean Fuel Automotives such as EV Semi Trucks, Hydrogen Buses, Hydrogen Scooters and Bikes. Such investments are not only creating thousands of jobs but will also crotibute significantly in to India’s exports output from Gujarat State.
However, socio-political experts also believes that the emphasis on such economic developmental milestones from the Gujarat BJP shows that the priority of this state is always around developing economy and with sustainable technologies.
The local leaders are highlighting state’s recent milestones of economic progress of inviting global investors to the state and developing economic activity.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister welcomed the delegates to an event of a capable and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ both as a Prime Minister and as a son of Gujarat. Remarking on the organisation of the DefExpo 2022, the Prime Minister said it paints a picture of ‘New India’ and its capabilities whose resolve is being forged at the time of Amrit Kaal. He added that it is an amalgamation of the country’s development as well as states’ cooperation. “It has the power and dreams of the youth, it has the resolve and capabilities of the youth. It has hopes for the world and opportunities for friendly nations,” the Prime Minister said.
