COWE Brings Thrust to Women Entrepreneurship

The Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) a Social organization engaged in the social and economic upliftment of women through entrepreneurship organized a day-long Women Entrepreneurship Seminar. Over 100 budding women entrepreneurs attended this event.

COWE's vision is to build a group of women who are economically empowered, valued citizens of the nation by awakening the dormant talent, skills, practical knowledge and resources of women and combining it with dedication and commitment.

COWE's mission is to enhance women's opportunities by creating a resource base of technical know-how, management, marketing skills, finance, infrastructure and equipment to promote entrepreneurship. The MoU’s for the chairperson of COWE Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand chapters were signed by the Tripti Shinghal Somani, Ruchi Maheshwari and Rita Somani respectively.

Speaking at the inauguration Ms P. Saudamini, President of COWE, India said, “The slogan "Gearing women power" stands for the democratic structure of COWE and stands for “Of the women, for the women and by the women.”

The first session was focused on turning thoughts into action plans for making women entrepreneurship a reality. Honorable chief guest Mrs Parvinder Sohi Behuria, NHRC shared the principles of developing entrepreneurship. Other eminent speakers on this panel included Vertika Dvivedi, founder Surfaces Reporter Management Ishita Swarup, founder 99 labels, Seema Jajodia, founder Nourish Organic Foods, LipikaSud, Interior Designer, LipikaSud Interiors Pvt. Ltd and Ann Mustard, US Embassy, Head, Women Council IACC, enlightened the gathering on the pivotal issues faced by most women entrepreneurs.
