To understand and examine ‘Make in India’ in depth, Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bengaluru, one of India’s premium Business Schools is gearing up to host a two-day National Seminar on ‘Make in India’ at its campus in the city on January 10–11, 2020. The seminar is expected to bring together Government representatives, academicians, researchers, business managers, professionals, practitioners, scholars and research policy makers on one platform, to exchange and share their experiences and ideas related to different aspects of Make in India.

Themed ‘Make in India: Making it work’, the National Seminar at XIME will focus on the progress of Make in India, ease of doing business in India, highlight the challenges and seek solutions and strategies required to boost the Make in India programme and make it a success. The key note and panel discussions, and fire chats during the seminar will further create awareness amidst young minds and encourage Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to work towards innovative business solutions which will eventually drive the Government’s ambitious entrepreneurial initiative.

Sharing his thoughts on Make in India, Prof J. Philip, Chairman, XIME, & Former Director, IIM Bangalore said, “Make in India is a good initiative with an ambitious vision. The success of this national campaign initiated by our Hon’ Prime Minister largely depends on the innovations, initiatives and actions undertaken by several industries including the MSMEs as well as the regulatory policies in our country. Through this two-day national seminar at XIME, we are bringing in industry leaders, policymakers, academicians and budding entrepreneurs on a single platform to discuss, debate and find solutions for the roadblocks and challenges that the country’s manufacturing sectors are facing today and to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit among the young leaders and guide them to make “Make in India” a success story. As India’s leading Business School, we are adding an educational value to this entire awareness program.”

The two-day seminar will witness the presence of dignitaries from different industries like automobiles, biotechnology, infrastructure, oil and gas, textile, auto components etc. to share their thoughts on the various aspects of running a business by adhering to issues and policies such as land acquisition and labour laws, keeping in mind the recent changes in the FDI legal system and policies in ease of doing business in India.
