In a bid to promote adoption of renewable energy solutions and unlock opportunities by leveraging public-private partnership in the state’s green energy sector, World Trade Center, Mumbai along with All India Association of Industries have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 26th September 2025 with MAHAPREIT (Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy & Infrastructure Technologies Limited), a Government of Maharashtra enterprise, to promote green energy sector in the state.
Under this partnership, WTC, Mumbai and AIAI will leverage its global and domestic business network to attract international investors, technology providers, and industry leaders to Maharashtra, while MAHAPREIT will facilitate project implementation, government coordination, and policy support for renewable energy initiatives.
While WTC, Mumbai is a premier trade and investment organization with a strong global network and domestic outreach with MSMEs, start-ups and women entrepreneur, the MAHAPREIT is engaged in Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology especially in Waste to energy, E-Mobility and sustainable solutions. Mr. Bipin Shrimali, Managing Director of the MAHAPREIT signed the MoU on behalf of Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy Infrastructure Technology Limited, while Dr. Vijay Kalantri, President, AIAI and Priya Pansare, Director of Trade and Investment Promotion signed the MoU on behalf of AIAI and WTC Mumbai, respectively.
This collaboration is expected to open significant avenues for domestic and foreign investment in rooftop solar, decarbonization in MSMEs, start-ups and women entrepreneurs and emerging green technologies. It also aims to strengthen Maharashtra’s position as one of India’s leading destinations for sustainable infrastructure and green business.
The key focus of the agreement is on mutual collaboration to promote renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure development focusing on MSMEs and women entrepreneur, facilitate adoption of renewable energy solutions and to work with government agencies, policymakers to develop favourable policies for adoption of green technology.
This comes at a significant time, as the state aims to propel it’s GDP to a 1 trillion $ mark with green energy spearheading it. The initiative’s focus on MSMEs and women entrepreneur will also make this growth broad based on inclusive thereby making these sector as strong and reliable pillar in the future.
