WeWork India Management Limited (“WeWork India”), one of India's leading premium flexible workspace operators, has launched WeWork Labs’ first edition of the North Star Annual Report, a founder-led, data-driven resource aimed at demystifying India’s fast-evolving startup landscape. The report was unveiled at the recently concluded North Star Summit hosted at WeWork Galaxy, Bengaluru, bringing together a dynamic mix of entrepreneurs, investors and enablers from across the ecosystem.
At its core, the North Star Annual Report is designed to be a field guide for founders offering actionable insights drawn from WeWork Labs’ deep reach across eight cities and a diverse network of stakeholders. From tracking the rise of Tier 2 and Tier 3 hubs to identifying gaps in founder capital and the emergence of new technologies, the report provides a wide-angle lens on the factors that are shaping the ecosystem currently. With insights like UPI’s exponential growth in India that is transforming digital payments and data points like the average fundraising timeline for startups in the current ecosystem, this report aims to shed light on all aspects of the Indian startup ecosystem with as much detail as possible.
The North Star Summit served as the perfect launchpad for the report, setting the tone with panel discussions on emerging macroeconomic trends, sectoral white spaces and founder-first perspectives that shaped the report’s narrative along with interactive networking sessions focused on discussing the insights from the report itself. The discussions were also spearheaded by top thought leaders from the ecosystem, which included Stuti Ashok Gupta, Principal of Brand and Vision at Amrutam, Ashwin Raguraman, Co-Founder and Partner of Bharat Innovation Fund, Arjun Rao, General Partner at Speciale Invest and Samriddhi Bhattacharyya, Director and General Manager for Enterprise and Startups at Dell Technologies.
As WeWork India’s dedicated accelerator program for startups, WeWork Labs has had the privilege of supporting entrepreneurs at every stage, witnessing the passion and resilience that drive India’s startup ecosystem, with this report serving as a culmination and reflection of those insights collected over the years. Arvind Radhakrishnan, Associate Director at WeWork India, added "At WeWork Labs, we operate within the intersection of ambition and insight, working with founders, investors, enablers, and policymakers across eight cities. Over time, we realised there was no single, comprehensive resource that captured the pulse of India’s evolving startup landscape. That’s what the North Star Annual Report sets out to change. By distilling real-world conversations, data, and challenges into one high-resolution guide, we’re equipping founders with the clarity they need to navigate uncertainty, spot emerging opportunities, and build with intent. It’s not just a report—it’s a strategic tool for anyone looking to participate meaningfully in India’s innovation story."
The North Star Annual Report is now available to download packed with these insights, trends and whitespaces emerging across the Indian ecosystem for the next phase of its entrepreneurial journey. You can find your copy of the report here.
