Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Vice Chairman Mr Jay Y. Lee met India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi and reiterated Samsung’s long-term commitment to the people of India as a strategic partner.

NEW DELHI: Vice Chairman Lee apprised the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Samsung’s business operations and citizenship activities in the country. He explained how Samsung is actively partnering Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ initiatives, with a commitment to growing India as an important production base and central R&D hub, as Samsung continues to view India as an important strategic partner.

He said Samsung’s ultimate goal is to be not just a foreign investor but a true local business in India, where Samsung will work with local communities to build a better future.Besides Make in India, Samsung is also committed to ‘Make for India’, an initiative to create meaningful local innovations for the Indian consumers.

In India, 'Samsung Smart Class’ program is helping over 200,000 students from low income families to experience e-learning at 376 JawaharNavodayaVidyalaya schools. In addition, 18 Samsung Technical Schools are imparting skills to youth to enable their employability.
