NPC has been in service of the nation since 1958 with the aim of enhancing the productivity of various sectors but when now we observe the world, markets have become more open and as a result, competitiveness has increased manifolds. Now productivity with its broad horizon has become the necessity for the survival and sustainability of not only industries but all the sectors including the service sector.
Sh. N.K. Chanji, Deputy Director-General, National Productivity Council commented, "NPC is in the transit phase of transformation and is getting ready to take-up the new productivity challenges of various sectors to boost the economy. The government has already given a role to NPC for nation-level interventions in sectors as varied as Fisheries productivity, grains & vegetable storage, price stabilization of pulses & vegetables including logistic support, water & energy conservation."
Apart from that, NPC has also been recognized as end implementing agency (EIA) for Pradhan Mantri Matasya Sampada Yojna (PMMSY) & NPC has also been granted accreditation confining to ISO 17020:2012 by National Accreditation Board for Certification Body (NABCB), Quality Council of India will enable us to undertake independent Third-Party Audits of food business operators including food storage warehouses. NPC is also looking forward to organizing some events and webinars on Women Day to be observed on 8th March 2021. "Every year the Productivity month in NPC is observed on 12th February and this year the broad theme for the Productivity Month is “Udyog Manthan For Productivity” with the aim to maximize the productivity in all the different sectors across various spheres at its best." Shri Chanji emphasized.
