Anil Chaudhry,Schneider Electric India

Participating in LEMCA Expo 2018, Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, announced plans to further strengthen its presence in the key state of Uttar Pradesh. Anil Chaudhry, Managing Director and Zone President, Schneider Electric India, inaugurated the event with Rajesh Agarwal, Minister of Finance, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Organised by the Lucknow Electric Merchants & Contractors Association, LEMCA Expo provides a platform to showcase and demonstrate innovative products and solutions in the electrical and solar energy space and connect with partners and prospective customers. The event was attended by architects, end users and corporates.

Speaking about the event, Anil Chaudhry who was also the guest of honour at the event said, “At Schneider Electric, we are committed to addressing the energy challenge through products and energy efficient solutions across multiple domains of buildings, grid, industries and data centres. We aim to facilitate and provide end-to-end solutions to help cities transform into smart cities with a strong focus on key verticals such as smart energy, smart water, smart utilities and smart transport. Since skilling is an important aspect of ensuring growth, we are also strong proponents of investing in training and development of people as it helps in creating and sustaining a robust growth.”

He added “It is our privilege to be associated with LEMCA. Given our strong and diverse portfolio of energy automation and management products and solutions, we look forward to assisting the association with the best of our capacity and contribute to the overall development of the state.”

Along with its wide range of connected and digitised products, Schneider Electric showcased its open, interoperable, IoT-enabled system architecture-EcoStruxure that delivers enhanced value around safety, reliability, efficiency, sustainability and connectivity for customers. The architecture enables users to gain visibility and valuable insights from building data to make its environment smarter, more secure and comfortable and up to 30% more efficient.

Uttar Pradesh is the fourth largest state in India. While the state has great potential for development, inadequate power generating capabilities act as an impediment to the industrial growth. In line with the government’s vision of ‘Power for All’ and to push major infrastructure development, several projects have been initiated in Uttar Pradesh such as the rapid transit system-Lucknow Metro Project, elevated roads and flyovers, redevelopment of three railway stations etc. Apart from this, plans are afoot to transform 10 large cities in the state into Smart Cities with investments of Rs. 800 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, Parag Garg, President, LEMCA said, “Uttar Pradesh is at the cusp of transformation. Increasing urbanisation and infrastructure development has pushed the demand for electricity in the state. While it is important to increase the supply, it is equally pertinent to ensure the efficient use of energy. We aim to educate the consumers and merchants/contractors towards effective and efficient utilisation of electricity and on the measures for safety against accidents. We are happy to be associated with Schneider Electric and hope to gain from their expertise on the matter.”

Shining with fast-paced infrastructural growth, Uttar Pradesh offers great opportunities and as a premier hub of business activities, Lucknow is a critical market that caters to the adjoining districts along with Bihar and Nepal.
