Schneider Electric Strengthens India Leadership with Amit Sharma

Schneider Electric, the global leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced the appointment of Mr. Amit Sharma as Vice President – Power Products and Digital Energy, Greater India Zone. He succeeds Mr. Nikhil Pathak, who has superannuated after an illustrious ~ 15-year career with Schneider Electric, during which he played a pivotal role in driving growth and transformation across multiple businesses.

This leadership transition underscores Schneider Electric’s strategic focus on building continuity and nurturing talent within the organization. By empowering leaders to take on expanded mandates, the company fosters a culture where talent is developed and elevated across business domains. Mr. Sharma’s appointment, alongside Mr. Pathak’s contributions to the Greater India Zone, reflects Schneider Electric’s commitment to strengthening its leadership pipeline in India and reinforcing Greater India’s position as a critical hub for growth and transformation.

Congratulating Mr. Sharma on his appointment, Mr. Deepak Sharma, Zone President Greater India and MD & CEO, Schneider Electric India, said, “Amit brings with him over 29 years of diverse global and Indian experience, including 15 successful years at Schneider Electric. His leadership, strategic foresight, and customer-centric approach will strengthen our Power Products & Digital Energy business, accelerate innovation, and drive greater value creation for our customers. I wish him all the success. At the same time, I thank Nikhil for his leadership in shaping the growth journey of the Greater India Zone. His passion, energy, and mentorship will be deeply missed”

Expressing his excitement on the new role, Mr. Amit Sharma said: “I am truly honored to take on this responsibility at such an important juncture. Power Products and Digital Energy are at the heart of Schneider Electric’s mission of enabling customers on their digital and sustainability journeys. My focus will be on accelerating innovation, strengthening our software and digital powertrain portfolio, and ensuring customer-centricity in everything we do. I look forward to working with our talented teams to build on the strong foundation we have and unlock new opportunities for growth and impact in the Greater India Zone. 

Mr. Amit Sharma will lead the Power Products and Digital Energy business with full P&L responsibility, focusing on accelerating Schneider Electric’s transformation journey in line with the company’s growth ambitions. He brings with him ~ 29 years of experience across global and Indian markets. During his 15 years at Schneider Electric, he has held several leadership roles, including international stints in France where he led global marketing, digital transformation, and product development for Medium Voltage (MV). He has been instrumental in shaping the global MV AIS portfolio and was a driving force behind the creation of the Power Systems “India for India” initiative, fostering a market-specific development mindset in collaboration with Lauritz Knudsen MV R&D teams. Prior to joining Schneider Electric, he worked with ABB for 14 years.
