NEW DELHI, 11 AUGUST 2016: SAP launched a youth campaign marking the occasion of International Youth Day today. The campaign tilted, ‘#TheWorldYouWantToLiveIn’ saw senior executives engage with students at SAP offices. SAP is one of the top employers of millennials globally and has dedicated focus on empowerment and development of youth using technology. SAP drives youth development initiatives under Digital Literacy and Entrepreneurship Development programmes through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Deb Deep Sengupta, President and Managing Director, SAP Indian Subcontinent addressed the youth at the event about millennials contributing to the creation of a digital economy. “SAP is vocal about empowering the millennial generation to drive innovation and create a world they want to live in. On this International Youth Day, we are creating opportunities for the youth to embrace technology and showing them how they can shape their future,” said Vlasta Dusil, Head of Human Resources, SAP India.
Youth from popular engineering colleges and partner NGOs participated in an interactive and fun filled learning session at SAP where they were exposed to design thinking methodology and SAP Lumira. The sessions introduced the youth to various methodologies for problem solving and showcased how Lumira can make use of analytics along with story-telling techniques through visualization. The youth were also engaged into a challenge on “The World You Want to Live In” using the design thinking guidelines.
SAP has been closely involved in using technology as an enabler to drive millennial development. Apart from employing millennials and grooming them to become successful leaders of tomorrow, SAP has been driving CSR activities that focus on youth empowerment. These initiatives are also a part of the 20 year success celebration of SAP in India.
Recently SAP launched a second phase of startup accelerator program with CIIE at IIM Ahmedabad and announced partnership with IIT-Bombay and ISB for social enterprise accelerator to propel the emerging entrepreneurs amongst the top talent in the country. SAP is additionally involved in imparting Digital skills training to youth in collaboration with partner NGOs under National Digital Literacy Mission.
