Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) - an international business chamber for women working towards global impact for Women Entrepreneurs, Businesswomen and Professionals from all walks of life has strengthened it's Delhi Chapter by appointing Ms. Sampa Banerjee as it's President.
Ms Sampa is Executive Director of International organization, WASME having members, associates and offices in more than 100 countries of the World.
On getting appointed as the president of the Delhi Chapter of WICCI, Ms Sampa said, "I am excited and thankful to those who considered me for this position. This is a great platform for Women and their role in entrepreneurship. Through WICCI, I will be working on enhancing the role of women in socio-economic development. Government is keen on this area as well, we will work towards educating the women entrepreneurs regarding programs and schemes that the government agencies are running for women empowerment. We will also be working closely on gender budgeting which is a topic of relevance at the policymaking front. With Gender Budgeting our society can become much more balanced. We hope to work along with several areas and opportunities for women empowerment which is a great need of the hour and WICCI's core mandate."
Ms. Sampa is also the International Convener of All Africa Association for Small & Medium Enterprises (AAASME) headquartered in Byesala, Nigeria and has diverse experience of over 20 years in Entrepreneurship Development, Training, Faculty Development, Microfinance, Women Empowerment and Rural Industrialization. She is a member of various prestigious associations and steering committees, Civil Societies, Ministries including TECOS, COHANDS, NFAC, etc. She is a visiting Faculty of different reputed Govt./Non Govt. organizations like NIESBUD, University of Delhi, IMT, JIMS, IMS etc and she is also a TEDx speaker. She is an Honorary Secretary of National level NGO, SAVE. She is also President of WICCI, Delhi. WICCI is a premier National Business Chamber for Women envisioning Global Impact for Women Entrepreneurs, Businesswomen and Professionals from all walks of life.
Through her commendable work in Microfinance, Ms. Banerjee has empowered more than 70,000 people through the creation of Micro Enterprises/SHGs. She has also been awarded by Hon'ble President of India in 2009 for her outstanding achievements towards the overall development of Society.
