Exclusive Interview with Ravi Goel, CBO of RapidShyp: Enabling Smart, Scalable, and Inclusive Logistics for India’s D2C Revolution
Interviewed by Faiz Askari, Founder & Editor, SMEStreet
Reimagining Logistics with Technology
Q: What is RapidShyp, and how does it connect with OM Logistics?
Ravi Goel: RapidShyp is an eCommerce logistics platform born out of OM Logistics. Launched in 2023 by Raghav Singhal, it simplifies shipping for D2C businesses using automation, AI-based courier selection, and real-time tracking. While OM Logistics has dominated the B2B sector for over 30 years, RapidShyp brings that pedigree to the digital-first, customer-focused world of online commerce.
A Platform Built for Modern, Nimble Businesses
Q: How is RapidShyp different from traditional logistics providers?
We’re data-first and digital-native. Unlike traditional firms that prioritize large shipments under fixed contracts, RapidShyp works like a smart matchmaker for small parcels, selecting optimal courier partners via AI. We support instant onboarding and feature offerings like Rapid COD (for fast cash flow), RapidShyp Shield (for shipment protection), and RapidShyp Delivery Pro (for NDR resolution), which are game-changers for eCommerce sellers.
Gen Z Challenges and the Changing Face of D2C Logistics
Q: What buyer behaviors are shaping D2C logistics today?
High return rates and impulsive purchases—especially COD refusals—are real challenges, largely driven by Gen Z. We help sellers reduce these risks using data-driven insights and strategic solutions, not just delivery services.
Democratising Logistics for Small and Emerging Sellers
Q: How do you cater to small-scale sellers?
We don’t have minimum order requirements. Our goal is to empower even a one-order-per-day business with the same tools as a high-volume seller. With integrations for platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce, small sellers get real-time tracking, COD efficiency, and smart shipping—all without operational headaches.
Looking Beyond Borders
Q: Do you handle international logistics?
Currently, we focus on domestic operations. However, expanding into international shipping and import logistics is part of our strategic roadmap.
Powering Sellers Through Data
Q: How do you leverage data to benefit clients?
Our systems track and assess courier performance regionally. If delays occur—for instance, in Bangalore—we proactively reroute shipments without seller intervention. We also provide flexibility based on speed or budget preferences, allowing smarter logistics decisions.
Pan-India Reach, Backed by Strategic Partnerships
Q: What’s your current coverage?
We’ve partnered with 12+ leading courier services and even India Post to ensure 100% coverage. Around 90–95% of shipments are handled by private couriers, with India Post serving the remotest regions.
Financial Tools for Business Growth
Q: What financial services do you offer to D2C sellers?
Through Rapid COD, we reduce COD remittance cycles from 7 days to just 2. Our postpaid model eliminates the need for upfront payments. Plus, OM Logistics evaluates startups for funding opportunities based on business viability.
Seamless Integrations with eCommerce Platforms
Q: How do you work with online platforms and marketplaces?
We integrate directly with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, and others. While marketplaces like Amazon manage logistics themselves, we serve sellers using Amazon’s self-ship option and support social commerce sellers on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
Beyond Logistics: Enabling Business Ecosystems
Q: Do you support sellers in building their online presence?
Directly, no. But we connect them with marketing and tech agencies from our partner network to help set up or scale their online businesses while we handle their logistics end-to-end.
Final Word from Ravi Goel
“We’re not just delivering parcels. We’re delivering possibilities for small and emerging businesses across India. At RapidShyp, we believe that the future of logistics is inclusive, data-driven, and built for scale.”
