Looking into the challenges MSMEs face in the State of Chattisgarh require creating a better ecosystem for nurturing them through policy interventions, said Vice Chairman of State Planning Commission, Chhattisgarh Ajay Singh at Chhattisgarh MSME Resilience Award 2021.
He was the chief guest at the award organised by International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Naya Raipur to acknowledge the innovative practices by MSMEs and Start-ups in the State.
With the support of the State Planning Commission Chhattisgarh, the IIIT Naya Raipur has also undertaken a study to understand the resilience strategies (innovative practices) applied by MSMEs/Start-ups in Chhattisgarh during COVID-19 to overcome the challenges faced due to the temporary freezing of business, said the press release.
Recognising the key MSMEs who have responded to this crisis with their inherent strength, innovation, and resilience was the chief aim of this event.
Invitation was sent to business owners and founders for the resilience award, and a large pool of nominees from the various part of Chhattisgarh had applied, and few of them were shortlisted for the final rounds.
Based on multipleparameters, a committee comprising experts from different domains selected 10 participants as final awardees. Ten finalists were felicitated during the event, and a coffee table book was documented with the studies and efforts of the selected MSME featured in it.
The Guest of Honour, Rajeev S., Joint Director of MSME-Development Institute Raipur, also lauded all the MSMEs present and discussed the various scheme launched by the Government of India to encourage and motivate small and medium businesses.
Welcoming all the participants and audience, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha, Director IIITNR,emphasized the innovation and entrepreneurship culture currently being nurtured at the institute.
He also referred to the various initiatives institutes took in entrepreneurship to help build state human resources.
The event was coordinated by Dr.Sresha Yadav (Principal Investigator) and Dr. Amit Agrawal (Co-PI).
The concluding remarks and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dean for Research and Development, IIIT-NRDr. P.P Paltani.
