Eyeing to tap Indian market, Payoneer, New York headquartered online cross-border B2B payment company with presence in more than 200 countries, has stepped into Gujarat to increase its footprint.
Addressing a press conference here its country manager, Rohit Kulkarni said that the company, which operates in 150 currencies, has been able to rope in a few thousand Indian companies, many of whom are SME's.
"Gujarat with huge potential with around 2.5 lakh SME's and double that number of freelance customers, currently contributes to around 10 per cent of our total Indian client base of which 50 per cent comes from Ahmedabad alone.
As the Indian and Gujarati business community is changing the traditional way of doing business, the opportunity is immense," he said adding that Payoneer which has over 48 lakh business across the globe to its fold is headquartered in Bangalore for its Indian operations.
