Sri Bhaskar Reddy Vemireddy, a distinguished Senior Advocate with vast experience in taxation laws, has been posted as Judicial Member of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), Andhra Pradesh State. He has been directed to assume charge on 21 January 2026 at the Andhra Pradesh State Bench of the GSTAT located at Vijayawada.
The posting of Sri Bhaskar Reddy Vemireddy as Judicial Member is expected to significantly strengthen the functioning of the Andhra Pradesh GST Appellate Tribunal. Members of the Bar and stakeholders have expressed confidence that his experience, judicial acumen, and deep understanding of tax jurisprudence will contribute positively to effective and expeditious disposal of GST disputes in the State.
Sri Bhaskar Reddy Vemireddy brings with him nearly four decades of legal experience, particularly in the field of direct and indirect taxation. He joined the legal profession in 1987 and has been in continuous practice since then before the High Courts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as various statutory tribunals. Over the years, he earned a reputation for his in-depth knowledge of tax laws and his effective advocacy in complex and high-stake matters.
He also served the State with distinction as Special Assistant Government Pleader before the High Court of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh from 1993 to 2004, during which period he represented the Government in several important cases. In recognition of his professional excellence and contribution to the legal fraternity, he was designated as Senior Counsel in 2022 by the Telangana High Court. Prior to his appointment to the Tribunal, he was enjoying a lucrative practice as a Senior Advocate, particularly in taxation matters.
