IMTMA COO S Balasubramanian Passes Away Due to Covid-19 in Bangalore

Bala was associated with IMTMA since 2007, heading the trade fairs division which organizes IMTEX and regional machine tool shows across various cities in the country, besides being the COO of BIEC - India’s leading green exhibition facility.

Balasubramanian S Pillai-Executive Director & COO at IMTMA & BIEC, President - Indian Exhibition Ind Assoc., Secretary - IAEE India Chapter

Mr. S. Balasubramanian, the Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) and Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) and President, Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA), passed away last night, May 10, 2021, battling coronavirus induced ailments.

Bala was associated with IMTMA since 2007, heading the trade fairs division which organizes IMTEX and regional machine tool shows across various cities in the country, besides being the COO of BIEC - India’s leading green exhibition facility. Prior to joining IMTMA, he was associated with Informa Group, Intech Trade Fairs &Wisitex Foundation.

Indian exhibition industry lost a captain who led from the front and was a friend to many. Bala’s sudden demise has created a void in IMTMA and the exhibition industry which is almost irreplaceable. 

Bala who was 58 years old at the time of his death is survived by his wife and two children.
