New Update
Mahindra & Mahindra, Mild Hybrid Technology , Mahindra Scorpio, National Green Tribunal

It was a really close call for Scorpio, featuring a massive mHawk 2.2 litres engine, which is now tuned down to 1.99 litres with ‘Intelli-Hybrid’ technology in some variants, to conform with the NGT rules. The SUV is also BSIV compliant for emission standards.

The ‘Intelli-Hybrid’ technology supplements the engine with additional electric power while accelerating, giving a surge of power when needed. Overtaking on highways becomes a breeze with this technology, and the SUV is quicker in city’s ‘stop light to stop light’ maneuvering.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. president and chief executive (Automotive), Pravin Shah stated about the keen emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendly practices that the organization needs to maintain across every process and product. They feel proud to introduce the Mild-Hybrid technology on the new Scorpio. For an environment-friendly approach by Mahindra and Mahindra, Intelli-Hybrid helps Scorpio owners contribute towards a cleaner and greener tomorrow.

Mahindra and Mahindra, our homegrown car manufacturer, announced the new Scorpio, upgraded with ‘Intelli-Hybrid’ technology. This new technology helps the SUV to reduce fuel consumption by up to 7 percent by assisting the engine in key vehicular operations.

Mahindra Scorpio, the car that brought Mahindra on top of the table in terms of sales and popularity, was one of the few cars, who were very close to being banned under National Green Tribunal. Since December 2015, there has been a ban on registration of diesel vehicles over 2,000cc in Delhi. The hearing is underway, and the topic of discussion is to spread NGT in 11 other cities, including Metropolitan cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
