KLH Hyderabad recently hosted a one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the transformative theme "Gamification in HR: A New Era of Motivation and Productivity", sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL), recently. Organized by the Department of BBA at KLH Global Business School, the program brought together faculty members, HR professionals, and researchers from across the country to explore how game-based strategies are reshaping human resource practices.
The inaugural ceremony, held at the KLH Global Business School campus in Kondapur, featured Mr. Phanindra Ravipati, Senior Manager – HR Shared Services, Hyderabad, as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the increasing relevance of gamification in enhancing organizational efficiency and employee engagement, setting the tone for an enriching week.
Er. Koneru Lakshman Havish, Vice President of KL Deemed to be University, emphasized the significance of such initiatives, stating, “In an era where employee engagement and innovation are key to success, gamification offers a creative and powerful approach to HR that aligns motivation with performance. We are proud to lead such initiatives that connect academic rigor with industry relevance.”
The program featured sessions by renowned experts. Dr. Anuradha Thota, CEO of Blackbuck Engineers, introduced the fundamentals of gamification in HR. Mr. Naser Ghazanfer spoke on wellness and gamification tools, while Dr. Ujjal Mukherjee addressed its impact on recruitment and performance management. Ms. Mausumi Dash explored employee training and psychological engagement, followed by Ms. Sukanya Metta, who discussed ethical considerations. Ms. Harshitha Varma shared practical insights into HR branding strategies.
The valedictory session was delivered by Ms. Poonam Reddy, Senior HR at Care Hospitals, who highlighted the application of gamification in healthcare HR practices—focusing on employee training, wellness, and engagement. Her session demonstrated the relevance of gamified strategies even in critical service sectors.
Participants also reviewed leading research in the field and undertook an industry visit to Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Miyapur, gaining practical exposure to gamification in action.
This FDP aimed to equip participants with actionable strategies for integrating gamification in areas such as recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and employee motivation—fostering innovation and productivity in the workplace.
It was successfully conducted under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Anand Bethapudi, Dean, and Dr. Swrupa, Convenor, with strong support from the faculty and staff. Participants from states like Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana added to the program’s national reach and impact.
