New Update
NASSCOM Delegation

The recently concluded Hamburg India Business Day had a Goan touch, with local tech entrepreneur Judah Fernandez being part of a NASSCOM delegation, that discussed the IT landscape in both countries and explored prospects for Indian IT professionals and entrepreneurs in Germany, a European economic powerhouse.

The event featured a cross-pollination of ideas with potential to drive growth in both markets, amid a global polycrisis involving COVID-19, climate change and Russia's war with Ukraine, that has triggered a cascade of challenges in the global economic order, including disruptions in supply chains, energy and food shortages, debt, inflation and surging migration.

Against this backdrop, Fernandez, co-founder of Kilowott, a Porvorim-based IT firm with a global footprint, was a part of the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) delegation, which comprised Indian IT companies that shared insights and sought opportunities arising from India's growing global footprint and Hamburg's expanding role as a business destination for Indian companies. NASSCOM is an Indian non-governmental trade association and advocacy group that primarily serves the $245 billion Indian technology industry.

“Adapting to the evolving landscape of business is crucial for tech players. Embracing new opportunities not only opens doors, but will also help us learn valuable lessons from Hamburg's dynamic business environment. This event was an ideal space to delve into the myriad of possibilities and discuss the wealth of opportunities awaiting exploration,” said Fernandez, whose IT company has a footprint in three continents, namely Asia, Europe and North America.

Hamburg India Business Day is organised annually as a testament to a growing partnership between India and Germany and the discussions held at the recent conclave enabled Indian tech entrepreneurs to explore the expanding tech landscape and facilitate engaging discussions on the potential for Indian IT companies to thrive in the German market.

“Hamburg serves as a key gateway to Europe for Indian businesses, even as India's economic rise presents a lucrative market for Hamburg's expansion and investment," Fernandez also said.
