The Association informed ISRO that the Micro, Small and Medium Industries associated with KASSIA specialize in varied products, components and sub assemblies serving multiple industries including automobiles, telecom, electronics and machine tools.
KASSIA further said that the MSMEs have also started making products for aerospace and machinery along with other sectors.
Backing the strength of the MSMEs, KASSIA asserted that the units are keen in engaging themselves to develop, produce and supply products and services required in space applications rocketing and satellite development.
The Association maintained that the quality would remain a primary concern while manufacturing the components for the Indian Space Research Organization.
In order to keep up with required innovation and standards, KASSIA expressed its interest in coordinating with the organization and conducting vendor development programs for the MSMEs of the region.
At present, over 500 vendors are on the board of ISRO for supplying various components. 92% of the requirements are being sourced locally with only 8% being imported from outside the country.
