Jupiter International Limited - one of India’s largest photovoltaic solar cells manufacturers and a solar power solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to set-up a state-of-the-art, vertically integrated solar manufacturing facility in Butibori, Nagpur.
The expected investment for this project is around Rs 10,900 crore which will encompass the complete value chain — including solar wafer manufacturing, new technology solar cell production, and solar module manufacturing — making it a comprehensive solar infrastructure project.
This project is expected to generate over 8,300 employment opportunities, catalyzing industrial growth, and capacity building across the solar power ecosystem.
“This investment reflects our long-term commitment to building India’s renewable energy future through technology, scale, and regional empowerment. We are thankful to the Government of Maharashtra for their continued support and guidance” said Mr. Alok Garodia, Managing Director - Jupiter International Limited
Jupiter International already operates two manufacturing facilities in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh with an installed capacity of 500 MW each aggregating to an overall installed capacity of 1.00 GW. The upcoming Nagpur plant is a strategic expansion of the company’s manufacturing footprint and forms a critical part of its vision to build a vertically integrated solar power platform.
