Rubix Data Sciences has unveiled timely and data-driven findings on the trade between India and G7 countries, offering valuable insights into the expanding trade ties between India and the world’s most advanced economies. With a clear focus on real trade patterns, product-level performance, and sectoral highlights, these findings offer useful guidance for exporters and policymakers navigating an evolving global trade environment.

According to the findings, India’s bilateral merchandise trade with the G7 countries - the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, and Japan stood at a robust USD 248 billion in FY25, growing at a steady 13% CAGR since FY21. Exports to these nations touched USD 138 billion, while imports totaled USD 110 billion, resulting in a healthy trade surplus of USD 28 billion. Notably, India maintained a surplus with four key G7 economies: the US, UK, France, and Italy. Telecom transmission equipment (including smartphones) and pharmaceuticals have emerged as top exports. India’s total mobile phone exports across all markets registered a remarkable 55% year-on-year growth to reach USD 24 billion in FY25.

India’s pharmaceutical exports continue to hold global significance, catering to over 40% of the generic drug demand in the US and 25% of total pharmaceutical consumption in the UK. Over the last five years, the share of India’s exports to G7 nations has risen from 29% to 31%, while imports from these countries dropped from 18% to 15%, signalling a positive shift in India’s global trade positioning.

Mohan Ramaswamy, Co-founder and CEO of Rubix Data Sciences, said: "India's growing trade surplus with G7 countries is not just a statistic, it’s a sign of how Indian industries, especially MSMEs, are stepping onto the global stage with confidence. From mobile phones to life-saving medicines, our exports are gaining trust and traction. At Rubix, we believe that empowering businesses with timely, credible data helps them de-risk decisions and seize emerging global opportunities. These findings are a part of our commitment to strengthening India’s role in the international economy through knowledge and insight."

Through focused insights and timely data, Rubix Data Sciences continues to support India’s trade ecosystem, helping businesses grow globally while contributing to the country’s long-term economic ambitions.
