A CII CEO’s delegation led by Dr Naushad Forbes, President Designate, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) & Director, Forbes Marshall will be visiting the US from September 8-10, 2015, as part of CII’s ongoing commitment to deepen the US-India economic partnership.
Through this visit, CII will seek to highlight the tremendous potential for engagement between US and India in critical areas such as defense, infrastructure, clean energy, higher education, skills development as well as innovation and entrepreneurship cutting across various sectors.
In addition, the CEOs mission seeks to convey to stakeholders in the US the definitive commitment of the Indian Industry towards this relationship and to find ways to chart a bold new path for deepening US-India partnership.
The delegation will hold preliminary consultations with key US stakeholders relating to the US-India Strategic Dialogue, the visits of several high level Cabinet officials from India and finally the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US.
Dr Naushad Forbes will be accompanied by Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII; Dr Rajiv Modi, Chairman & Managing Director, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Mr Rahul Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Future Energies Ltd, Mr Deep Kapuria, Chairman, Hi-Tech Gears, and Mr Tarun Sawhney, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd.
While in San Francisco, the CII delegation will hold a roundtable meeting with US investors and business leaders in partnership with US-India Business Council. They will also be meeting entrepreneurial elites of the Silicon Valley in partnership with TiE. In Washington DC, the CII delegation will meet high level officials from government agencies such as USTR, US Department of Commerce, and well as Members of Congress. In addition, CII will organize a Roundtable in partnership with The Atlantic Council, where the mebers of the delegation will give their perspectives on “Getting to $500 Billion in US-India Trade”. In addition, CII will be organizing a Roundtable with National Academy of Sciences on ‘Manufacturing Innovation’.
