India might be a global IT destination but its own people were largely deprived of its benefits, says Mr Tanmoy Chakrabarty, vice president of Government Industry Solutions Unit of the TCS, the country’s leading IT company with footprints across the continents.
"Today the biggest irony was that India was an IT destination with 150 billion worth of exports but we are struggling to secure the benefit of the industry to our own people,’’ he was quoted in media.
It was high time that the government partnered more and more with private digital service providers to reach to the last man in the line and also to enhance cyber security of its installations, Mr Chakrabarty said.
He said India’s own needs of IT were largely unfulfilled when it came to e-governance.
E-governance was the only solution for the success of mass welfare programmes and delivery of other services to people as 1.
