Hy-Vee, Inc., a leading retail grocery conglomerate headquartered in west Des Moines, Iowa, has announced its move to a new office location in Bangalore, further enhancing its footprint in India. The employee-owned company, known for its over 550 retail business units across the United States, generates nearly $14 billion in annual sales. Hy-Vee's move to a new space is part of its plan to leverage India's talent pool for a wide range of technical and non-technical roles, allowing the company to work on projects on a 24/7 basis.

The 54,000-square-foot facility, situated in Karle Tech Park on the Outer Ring Road, under a 10-year lease, aims to drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency. Hy-Vee previously established its Global Capability Center (GCC) in April 2023 at Manyata Tech Park, which occupies approximately 25,000 square feet. The company is now transitioning to a significantly larger office, located at SEZ which hosts multiple GCCs. The center has IT teams across Data, Digital, and Core IT products and services with 180 employees, along with non-IT teams across store development and accounting.

Currently, its technology center, Helpful Smiles Technology (HST) Global, employs close to 200 people. The new office features workspaces for up to 350 people and has a garden city theme, 17 meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, and phone pods. The office also boasts a Lalbagh-themed glasshouse, providing a unique and inspiring environment for the team.

The new office in Bengaluru was inaugurated by Travis Hoover, Chief Data Officer at HyVee, who commented on the expansion, stating, "We are excited to see the HST Global team's growth over the last year and a half and look forward to this new space supporting them as they continue to help move Hy-Vee forward as a retail leader.”

The celebration of the new office also involved participation from children from the Cholanayakanhalli Government School, whom Hy-Vee has been supporting over the last year, adding a special touch to the celebration.
