NEW DELHI: Home Credit India, India's leading NBFC and market leader in the small ticket size loan category* providing fast and easy loans mostly to first time loan takers in the country has become the proud recipient of the prestigious TransUnion CIBIL "Consumer Bureau Data Quality Award 2016 under "Member with the maximum improvement in data quality score during 2016" in the NBFC segment.

The TransUnion-CIBIL Data Quality awards are announced annually across member categories to recognize the efforts of TransUnion CIBIL members who strive to enhance data quality in the industry and set benchmarks for others to follow.

Expressing his pleasure on the recognition, Marcin Trusz, Chief Risk Officer, Home Credit India, said, "It is an honour for us to receive the prestigious TransUnion CIBIL Data Quality Award. This honour is a reflection of our team's rigorous efforts in scaling data quality to a distinguishable height and setting up a benchmark in the NBFC industry in India."

On the recognition, Harshala Chandorkar, COO, TransUnion CIBIL said, "The efficiency and effectiveness of a credit bureau is based on the quality of data collected in its database. Over the years all our member credit institutions have steadfastly worked with us for improving the quality of data submissions. Home Credit has shown outstanding Data Quality Score improvement and this award stands a testimony to their efforts."

Home Credit's offerings primarily consist of providing in-store financing (direct non-cash loans in retail outlets) to qualified customers looking to purchase consumer durable goods such as mobile phones, home appliances, laptop/tablets, electronic goods and two-wheelers. The company has its operations in over 70 cities across 15 states in the country. It has a strong network of nearly 8500 Points-of-Sale (PoS) where it services nearly 2.5 million customers through a driven employee base of over 16,000.

TransUnion CIBIL Limited (Formerly: Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited) is India's first Credit Information Company (CIC) founded in August 2000. TransUnion CIBIL collects and maintains records of an individual's payments pertaining to loans and credit cards. These records are submitted to TransUnion CIBIL by member banks and credit institutions, on a monthly basis. This information is then used to create Credit Reports and credit scores which are provided to credit institutions in order to help evaluate and approve loan applications. The Credit I Report and CIBIL TransUnion Score are used in the loan approval process.
