As part of its commitment to responsible corporate conduct and product authenticity, Finolex Industries—India’s leading manufacturer of PVC and CPVC pipes and fittings —identified and reported a counterfeit operation in Greater Noida, where fake Finolex-branded pipes were being manufactured and circulated in the market.

Based on the information provided by Finolex Industries, local authorities, in collaboration with the local Police, conducted a raid on April 10, 2025, and seized substantial quantities of counterfeit material from the premises. An FIR was filed on April 11, 2025, and legal proceedings have since commenced. The development reflects Finolex’s ongoing commitment to combat brand misuse and product duplication.

The counterfeit pipes posed not just a threat to Finolex’s brand reputation, but also to consumer safety, especially in applications involving water supply and structural plumbing. Inferior materials used in the manufacture of counterfeit/duplicate items pose risks such as leakage, contamination and extensive structural harm over time.

This action is part of Finolex Industries’ broader initiative to actively monitor markets and manufacturing hotspots for any signs of product duplication—an issue increasingly plaguing the organized piping industry.

“We strongly condemn the manufacture and sale of counterfeit goods. It is not just a violation of intellectual property, but a risk to end-user safety and trust. Finolex Industries stands for quality, transparency, and long-term value—and we will continue to take every possible legal and operational step to stop such malpractices,” said a company spokesperson.

The company remains on constant vigil and has instituted proactive measures to curb and mitigate the circulation of counterfeit products in the market.
