FIEO Hails MEIS based on HS Code

Exporters' body Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) recently said the recent decision by the DGFT to process majority of claims on HS code basis will help exporters.

"There was a long pending demand of exporters to grant MEIS benefit on HS code basis," said FIEO President Ganesh Kumar Gupta, adding that the move will be a great relief to exporters.

He complimented the Commerce& Industry Minister for giving this relief to exporters at this difficult time, when large amount of exporters’ money is blocked on account of IGST and ITC refunds.

The FIEO President further said that the processing of MEIS claims on HS codes will cut down unnecessary delays and bring ease in the whole process of claiming the legitimate benefit.
